The South Devon Group of The Ramblers Association
Notes To Walkers

All persons joining walks do so at their own risk.

After three walks with the group, all persons are expected to join the Ramblers' Association.

Suitable clothing, waterproofs and boots are required, especially on Dartmoor walks.

Leaders should arrange a back-marker.

No one in the group should walk ahead of the leader.

Anyone wishing to stop for any reason should advise the leader or backmarker.

Use the whistle to attract attention in an emergency or if you lose sight of the person in front due to fog, distance or turnings.

Leaders should know the number of walkers in the group and check at regular intervals.

Dogs must be on a short lead (not extendable) and under control at all times.

Always bring a packed lunch unless otherwise stated on the walk information.

SPECIAL NOTE : In adverse weather conditions, please ring the leader to confirm that the walk is on. Alternatively consult the Web Site Walks Programme where a walk cancellation is published in red at 8.30am on the walk day.
